The Conrad Singapore Orchard Hotel is a treasure trove filled with a delightful combination of modern and traditional gems. Set in the luscious landscape of central Singapore, the recently completed Conrad is host to clientele seeking the finest in high-end leisure: whether that be shopping for luxury brands, fine dining or any of the many other fun and exciting activities there are to immerse yourself in.
Nicely nestled inside the Conrad is the newly opened Michelin starred restaurant the Summer Palace, where renowned Executive chef Liu Ching Hai “creates authentic Cantonese cuisine with elevated culinary practices’. His “meticulous approach to providing excellence”, is perhaps why he decided to commission the intricate interior design of his new premises to the multi-awarded Singapore based design studio – MSDO, whose Matthew Shan likes to visually “delight and intrigue” his audience.
TIRAR’s stunning award-winning KORKKI door pull brings an added touch of sophistication to the polished finish of the caramel-coloured doors that can be seen in the dining area. Having been innovatively designed with the aspect of ”human interaction” in mind, the rich chocolate-coloured walnut of the KORKKI is visually inviting while depicting ease, as though the doors could be opened by the flick of a (mega chocolate) button.
And as you wander round the restaurant the KORKKI appears in its own glorious self and compliments the brilliant surrounding elements that are all part of this wonderfully atmospheric space. A space that has been beautifully curated with a homage to Chinese tradition and which, at the same time, incorporates contemporary designs with the same meticulous eye as that given to the sumptuous Summer Palace’s gastronomical experience.
